In January–April of this year, 13,892.9 million cubic meters of gas were transported through Azerbaijan's main gas pipelines, which represents a 2.2% decrease compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, APA-Economic reports citing the State Statistics Committee.
52.7% of the gas transportation was carried out via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum South Caucasus pipeline.
This pipeline is used to export gas produced from the Shah Deniz gas-condensate field.
During the reporting period, 7,324 million cubic meters of gas were transported through this pipeline, reflecting a 2.2% decrease.
Recall that last year, 40,348.3 million cubic meters of gas were transported via main gas pipelines in Azerbaijan, which marked a 2.7% increase compared to the previous year. Of this, 56.6% was transported through the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum South Caucasus pipeline. During the reporting period, 22,851.9 million cubic meters of gas were transmitted via this pipeline, representing a 4.3% year-on-year increase.
