In January of this year, the total value of production in the mining industry in Azerbaijan amounted to AZN 3.346 million, which is a 5% decrease compared to the same month of the previous year, APA-Economics reports citing the monthly report of the State Statistical Committee.
According to the report, AZN 3,108.4 million of the total value corresponds to the production of crude oil and natural gas, which is a 5.9% decrease year on year.
According to the data, the main product of the sector, commercial oil production, amounted to 2,301.1 million tons, while commercial natural gas production totaled 3,112.2 billion cubic meters.
"Commercial oil production has decreased by 6.6% compared to the same month of the previous year, while commercial gas production has decreased by 4.8%," the report states.
It is noted in the report that during the reporting period, Azerbaijan produced a total of 2,308.2 thousand tons of oil (a 6.5% decrease) and 3,978.9 million cubic meters of gas (a 6.4% decrease).
Recall that last year, the total value of production in the mining industry in Azerbaijan amounted to AZN 41,179.5 million, which is a 1% increase compared to the same period of the previous year. Of this total, AZN 38,009.6 million corresponded to the production of crude oil and natural gas, which is a 1.2% increase compared to the previous year.
Note that last year, commercial oil production amounted to 28,997 million tons, and commercial natural gas production totaled 38,668.6 billion cubic meters. Commercial oil production decreased by 3.6% compared to the previous year's figures, while commercial gas production increased by 6.2%.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan produced a total of 29,063 thousand tons of oil (a 3.6% decrease) and 50,596.7 million cubic meters of gas (a 4.3% increase).
