In January–March of this year, the total value of production in the mining industry in Azerbaijan amounted to AZN 9,874.5 million, which is a 3% decrease compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, APA-Economics reports citing the monthly report of the State Statistical Committee.
According to the report, AZN 9,131.8 million of the mentioned total indicator accounted for crude oil and natural gas production, which is a 2.8% decrease in an annual comparison.
According to the information, the production of marketable crude oil — the main product of the sector — amounted to 6,846.8 million tons, while the production of marketable natural gas was 9,790.6 billion cubic meters.
“Marketable crude oil production decreased by 5.5% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, while marketable gas production increased by 1.1%,” the report states.
The report notes that during the reporting period, a total of 6,863.9 thousand tons of oil (a 5.5% decrease) and 12,458.5 million cubic meters of gas (a 0.9% decrease) were produced in Azerbaijan.
Recall that last year the total value of production in the mining industry in Azerbaijan amounted to AZN 41,179.5 million, which is 1% more than the corresponding period of the previous year. Of this figure, AZN 38,009.6 million accounted for crude oil and natural gas production, which is a 1.2% increase in an annual comparison.
Note that last year the production of marketable crude oil amounted to 28,997 million tons, while the production of marketable natural gas was 38,668.6 billion cubic meters. Marketable crude oil production decreased by 3.6% compared to the previous year’s figure, while marketable gas production increased by 6.2%.
During the reporting period, a total of 29,063 thousand tons of oil (a 3.6% decrease) and 50,596.7 million cubic meters of gas (a 4.3% increase) were produced in Azerbaijan.
