"Russia and Ukraine have also, in principle, agreed on the idea of a ceasefire," said Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, APA reports.
The minister noted that both sides have different views regarding the ceasefire: "Ukraine wants an unconditional ceasefire, while Russia has its own terms. The parties need to come together and reconcile the issues they disagree on. The Ukraine-Russia talks initiated through U.S. mediation have reached a certain stage. The parties are now trying to reach a common point. We need to continue these negotiations. If the goal is to achieve peace, both sides must make certain concessions. Mediators have an important role to play. We have provided every kind of support from the beginning, and we will continue to do so."
