Remains of soldier who went missing in I Karabakh War buried in Nakhchivan-PHOTO-UPDATED

The body of martyr Mukhtar Bayram oglu Mammadov, who went missing during the First Karabakh War and whose remains were found 31 years later, has been buried in Sharur, APA’s Nakhchivan bureau reports.

The martyr’s body was laid to rest at the Martyrs’ Alley in the city of Sharur.

After the burial, volley of gunfire was held. The State Flag that was draped over the coffin was presented to the martyr’s brother.

The funeral ceremony was attended by relatives of martyr Mammadov, officials of the Sharur and Sadarak District Executive Authorities, employees of law enforcement agencies, and members of the public.

Note that Mukhtar Bayram oglu Mammadov was born on October 28, 1973, in the village of Damirchi in the Sadarak district and participated in the battles for the First Karabakh War. He went missing on January 26, 1994, during battles against Armenian occupiers in the vicinity of the village of Ashagi Abdurrahmanli in the Fuzuli district.

The body of Mukhtar Mammadov Bayram, who went missing and was martyred during the First Karabakh War, has been brought to Nakhchivan, APA reports.

The coffin of the martyr, wrapped in the tricolor flag, was received at Nakhchivan International Airport by family members, relatives, and representatives of the state and government.

A ceremonial gun salute was fired, verses from the Holy Quran were recited, and a procession was held in front of the martyr’s casket.

It should be noted that the farewell ceremony for the martyr will be held in Demirchi village of the Sadarak district, where he was born.

Mukhtar Mammadov was born in Demirchi village and voluntarily took part in the battles during the First Karabakh War.

He went missing on January 26, 1994, during battles against Armenian occupiers in the vicinity of the village of Ashagi Abdurrahmanli in the Fuzuli district.
